These fall minute-to-win-it games are some of the most festive and fun party game ideas you can try.
These are the games that I wish we had when I was a kid – and you’ll be happy to add them to your autumn rotation!
Depending on how many people you have playing, there are different ways to play.
They’re perfect for both small and large groups, making them ideal for fall family games!
How to Play
Here are the different modes of gameplay, depending on your group size.
1- Individual vs. clock – Set a timer for one minute, one person plays each game, and sees how far they get.
2- Group style – Pick two players to go head-to-head in a competition. Rotate through the pairs, and the winners earn points toward the group totals.
3- Team vs. team – Split into teams with one person from each team playing each game, competing against other teams.
Now that you know how to play, let’s dive in!
Candy Corn Pickup
Players use only a drinking straw to move candy corn from one bowl to another before the timer ends.
It’s inexpensive to set up and works especially well for classrooms and fall festivals.
You’ll need:
- Candy corn
- Two bowls
- Drinking straw
Pumpkin Pong
Bounce ping-pong balls into mini pumpkins, orange cups, or small buckets. You can even move the targets farther away each round to make things more competitive.
You’ll need:
- Ping pong balls
- Mini pumpkins or plastic cups
Apple Stack
Apple Stack looks easy until the tower starts wobbling.
Challenge everyone to stack as many apples as possible before they tumble over.
Smaller apples that are close in size usually work best.

Leaf It to Me
Players blow colorful paper leaves across the table using only a straw.
You’ll need:
- Artificial or paper leaves
- Drinking straws
Acorn Scoop
For this challenge, players move acorns from one bowl to another using only a spoon held in their mouth.
It usually gets everyone laughing because even the easiest-looking rounds can be tricky.
You’ll need:
- Acorns
- Bowls
- Spoons
Feather Float
Keep a feather in the air for one full minute without letting it touch the ground.
You’ll need:
- Craft feathers
Pumpkin Seed Sort
Mix together pumpkin seeds of different colors or sizes and see who can sort them the fastest.
This one works especially well if you’re looking for a calmer challenge for younger kids.
You’ll need:
- Dyed or natural pumpkin seeds
Pumpkin Face Race
Lay out paper eyes, noses, and mouths, then race to build a jack-o’-lantern before time runs out.
Younger kids especially love this one because there’s no right or wrong design.

Haystack Hunt
Hide tiny fall-themed items inside shredded paper or raffia and see who can find the most in one minute.
You can use mini pumpkins, acorns, candy, or anything else that fits your theme.

Traffic Yam
Without using your hands, players push a sweet potato across the floor using only their nose.
You’ll need:

Cookie Face
Move a cookie from your forehead to your mouth using only facial muscles.
This one’s harder than it sounds!
You’ll need:
- Sandwich cookies
Pumpkin Balance
Carry a mini pumpkin across the room on a paper plate without dropping it.
This one is actually pretty easy, which is good to add to the rotation.
For minute to win it races you don’t really want every game to be the same difficulty level.
The fun is in the variety!

Corn Kernel Transfer
Using tweezers or chopsticks, move popcorn kernels from one bowl to another.
You’ll need:
- Popcorn kernels
- Tweezers or chopsticks
Pumpkin Roll
Roll a mini pumpkin and try to stop it inside a taped scoring zone.
You’ll need:
- Mini pumpkins
- Painter’s tape
Apple Bob Relay
Fill two buckets with water and have players transfer floating apples from one bucket to the other without using their hands.
It’s messy, a little silly, and always gets everyone cheering.
You’ll need:

Leaf Toss
Set baskets or buckets at different distances and assign each one a point value.
Players have one minute to toss as many leaves into the targets as they can.

- Artificial leaves

Candy Corn Tower
See who can build the tallest tower using only candy corn before time runs out.
You’ll need:
- Candy corn
Pumpkin Seed Spit
Using only a straw, players race to blow pumpkin seeds across the table and over the finish line.
It’s quick to set up and works well for all ages.

- Pumpkin seeds
- Straws
Pie Tin Pong
Arrange pie tins at different distances and see how many ping pong balls players can bounce into them before the timer ends.
Moving the tins farther away makes each round a little more challenging.
You’ll need:

Pumpkin Pass
Pair everyone up and have partners pass a mini pumpkin back and forth using only their elbows or under their chin.
If the pumpkin drops, they simply pick it up and keep going until time runs out.

Fall Cup Stack
Race to build a pyramid of orange cups and then take it back down before the minute is over.
It’s simple, fast-paced, and a nice change from some of the more themed challenges.

Marshmallow Harvest
Using chopsticks or clothespins, transfer as many mini marshmallows as possible from one bowl to another before time runs out.
This is another game that’s much trickier than it first appears.
You’ll need:

Candy Bucket Toss
Place buckets at different distances and see who can score the most points by tossing individually wrapped fall candy into each one.
It’s a fun way to end the games since the candy can double as the prizes.
