These fall bucket list ideas will help you make the most of pumpkin season, cooler weather and cozy nights at home.
I love having a seasonal list because fall always seems to pass faster than expected!
You don’t have to complete every activity.
Pick your favorites, add a few new ideas and create an autumn bucket list that works for you.
Here are 25 fun things to do this fall.

Try a New Fall Recipe
Choose a recipe filled with apples, pumpkin, cinnamon or another favorite fall flavor.
You could make pumpkin bread, apple crisp, butternut squash soup or something completely new.
Take a Nature Walk
Head outside and enjoy the colorful leaves and cooler weather.
I’d bring a warm drink and take a few pictures along the way.
Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Pick out the perfect pumpkin, take some fall photos and enjoy any extra activities the farm offers.
Many pumpkin patches also have hayrides, corn mazes, food stands and games.

Jump in a Leaf Pile
Rake up a big pile of leaves and jump in!
It’s a classic fall activity for kids, but adults are allowed to join too.
Build a Bonfire
Gather around a bonfire with friends or family.
Add blankets, warm drinks and a few snacks for an easy autumn evening.
Make a Time Capsule
Fill a container with photos, notes and small items that represent your life right now.
Choose a future fall date when you’ll open it again.
Make Hot Cocoa
Prepare mugs of hot cocoa and add marshmallows, whipped cream or cinnamon.
It’s simple, warm and perfect for a chilly night at home.

Go Camping
Cooler temperatures can make fall a beautiful time for a camping trip.
Look for a location surrounded by autumn leaves and bring plenty of warm layers.
Attend an Outdoor Concert
Enjoy live music before the weather gets too cold.
Check local parks, community centers and fall festivals for outdoor performances.
Roast Marshmallows
Roast marshmallows over a bonfire or fire pit.
You can eat them as they are or turn them into s’mores.
Visit the Zoo
Plan a zoo trip on a cool fall day.
The comfortable weather can make walking around much more enjoyable than it is during the hottest part of summer.
Decorate for Fall
Add pumpkins, leaves, candles and other autumn touches around your home.
Even a few small decorations can make the season feel more festive.
Go Stargazing
Choose a clear evening, bring blankets and spend some time watching the sky.
I’d add a thermos of something warm too!
Attend a Fall Festival
Look for a harvest festival, community fair or seasonal event nearby.
You may find fall foods, handmade crafts, games, music and plenty of pumpkins.
Go Apple Picking
Spend an afternoon picking fresh apples at a local orchard.
Of course, deciding what to bake with them afterward is part of the fun!

Go on a Hayride
A hayride is an easy addition to a pumpkin patch or fall festival visit.
Choose a peaceful daytime ride or a haunted one if you want something spookier.
Have a Cozy Movie Night
Choose a favorite fall or Halloween movie and make a few seasonal snacks.
Pile up the blankets, dim the lights and settle in for the evening.
Explore a Corn Maze
See how quickly you can find your way through a local corn maze.
Go with a group and split into teams if you want to make it a competition.
Carve or Paint Pumpkins
Carve traditional jack-o’-lanterns or decorate pumpkins with paint.
Painted pumpkins are especially helpful if you want your decorations to last longer.
Take a Scenic Drive
Plan a drive through an area known for beautiful fall foliage.
Bring a fall playlist and stop somewhere for lunch or coffee along the way.
Bake Pumpkin Bread
Nothing makes a home smell like fall quite as quickly as pumpkin bread baking in the oven.
Make an extra loaf to share with a friend or neighbor.
Have a Fall Picnic
Pack sandwiches, soup, cider or other seasonal favorites and eat outside.
A local park surrounded by colorful trees is perfect.
Visit a Farmers Market
Shop for apples, squash, baked goods, flowers and other seasonal finds.
You may even discover a new ingredient for your fall recipe.
Read a Book Under a Cozy Blanket
Choose a quiet afternoon, make a warm drink and start a new book.
This is one of my favorite cozy autumn activities because it requires almost no planning.

Host a Fall Game Night
Invite a few people over for seasonal snacks and games.
You can play board games, trivia or printable fall party games for an easy night together.
