The 21-Day Smoothie Diet is a program created by health coach Drew. 

It’s a 3-week program where you have two smoothies per day, and modify your diet the rest of the time to eat very clean. 

Inside the program, you get 36 tasty smoothie recipes, grocery lists for all the supplies you’ll need, and a detailed schedule to follow.

It’s not just a big book of smoothies (you can get that anywhere online.) 

Instead, this is a program that holds your hand the whole way. 

It tells you exactly what to make and eat and when so you are in a sense being coached by a professional on the fastest way to melt fat in the three weeks. 

(Honestly, I started to lose weight within the first few days and I think that’s the most exciting part of it all!)

 

What Can You Eat?

So, like I said before, you drink two smoothies per day on the smoothie diet, then you eat regular meals. 

It’s important to follow the smoothie diet schedule because different fruit and vegetable combinations go together for combinations of fats, proteins and carbs. You need a good balance and if you go off track you’ll mess up. 

So don’t do that! 

You’re allowed to eat whole food recipes that come in the recipe book, and I liked them a lot! You wouldn’t feel too restricted or disappointed if you follow the meal plan. 

And the good news is you get to pick one day per week to eat three meals in a day instead of substituting meals with the smoothies, so that’s good too, right?

I thought overall that the meal plan was reasonable with the smoothies in the program, and it was something I didn’t have too much trouble sticking to.

Things To Watch Out For

The first thing to know is that this is not something you want to do longer than the 21 days. 

You can take a break in-between and go another round after a few weeks to lose even more weight. 

But this is not meant to be a long-term weight loss solution. 

I used it to get ready for a special event and it was perfect for that! 

Second, some of the recipes I found were a bit thick. Adding almond milk or water to thin them out makes it more volume (which is great), and a bit easier to drink. Because who wants to eat a drink?! 

 

What If You Get Hungry?

Honestly, I never was the type of person who wanted to replace meals with smoothies. 

I always prefer chewing my food. 

The first few days were the hardest, so I’ll admit I cheated and ate solid food some. 

But what I ate was low-calorie fruits. I had apples, tangerines and carrot sticks the first few days while my body adjusted to the smoothie replacements and still the weight melted off. 

So, the plan says not to eat and to just replace the meals with smoothies, but if you pick clean, healthy, low-calorie snacks you should be fine. 

 

Pros Of The 21- Day Diet

In my opinion, there are way more pros than cons of the 21-Day Smoothie Diet. 

First — it works! 

If you struggle with dropping weight and really want to jumpstart the process in a way that leaves no room for error — do it! Follow the plan as close as possible and watch yourself shrink so fast you’ll think it’s magic! 

The second pro of the 21-Day Smoothie Diet is that it incorporates so many fruits and vegetables into your life. 

If you feel “icky” and are coming off of a week or month of eating poorly, drinking too much alcohol, and just feel bloated and gross, this diet will help you get rid of that pretty much straight away. 

It’s like a detox of sorts and also can act as a precursor to trying something like going vegan, vegetarian or a plant-based diet. 

Third, the smoothies are pretty simple to mix up. Great for being on the go. 

And finally, no calories or macro counting! 

In the past, I’ve lost weight but I had to try so hard to do it! 

With this, the weight came off really naturally as long as I followed the plan. I think you’ll enjoy it! 

 

Cons Of The 21-Day Smoothie Diet

On the bad side, if you dislike drinking your meals you might find it challenging at first like I did. It will take some getting used to and it is a sacrifice, so be mindful of that going in. While it works, it’s not the easiest thing to dive into. You must commit! 

Also, the Smoothie Diet is not a long-term weight loss solution. 

It’s going to be very easy to gain the weight back if you don’t learn how to eat or exercise to maintain it once the three weeks are over. 

If you go out to McDonald’s and eat whatever you want on day 22, by day 23 you’ll probably be very bloated and unhappy. 

 

The Final Verdict On The 21-Day Smoothie Diet

Depending on what you’re looking for, the 21-Day Smoothie Diet could be a good choice for you. 

If you want a long-term weight loss plan where you might lose weight slowly, but you’ll keep it off because you’ve taken the time to develop strict habits, there are probably better systems for you. 

But if you have an event to attend and you want to look good super fast, or you’ve been struggling for a long time with your weight and want quick wins, if you need a detox, or if you’re planning to transition to a vegan or plant-based diet in the near future, the 21-Day Smoothie Diet could be perfect for you! 

 

A Word On Smoothie Diet Pricing

Finally, The Smoothie Diet has different offers at different times. 

It took me over a month to decide that I wanted to try it out. 

The first time I saw it, the price was $47. I wavered and waffled about it, then by the time I was ready to buy it the price had risen. 

I could never catch it at $47 again, so take my advice…
